PEARLAND:Sri. Meenkashi Temple Society and Bharathi Kalai Manram arranged a special community prayer to pay homage to Late President of India Abdul Kalam.

MTS Secretary Srikanth initiated the program introducing priest Pavan Kumar who did a Shanthi prayer.  MTS Chairman P. Vaduganathan welcome every one and talked about United Nations adopting Kalam’s birth day as world students day. The honorary president of MTS Sam Kannappan talked about the President asking him to go and do something for his native village. The Consul General of India P. Harish and his wife Nandita Harish attended the event.  P. Harish talked about his experiences while accompanying the late president and how he has motivated every one. Sri. Sridhar, Srinivasan , President of BKM, talked about the president as well the famous Indian music director M.S. Viswanathan who also passed away in the month of July.  Narayanan, the MTS Vice chairman talked about how the president coming from a poor family rose to the highest office.  The MTS visitor center was packed with about 75 people attending the event. Several students attended the event. Many talked about how they were inspired by the late president and the mellisal mannar ( King of melodies).
