HOUSTON: The Indo-American Chamber of Greater Houston (IACCGH) presented mementos to three officials who are leaving their positions: Houston City Mayor Sylvester Turner, retiring Small Business Administration (SBA) District Director Tim Jeffcoat, and former Houston Minority Supplier Diversity Council (HMSDC) President Richard “Dick” Huebner. Executive Director Jagdip Ahluwalia said all three officials have been instrumental in helping IACCGH make inroads into the mainstream business community.

More than 150 IACCGH members and their guests gathered at the Houston Junior League ballroom for the annual holiday party to socialize, network, and congratulate the retiring officials. Consul General D.C. Manjunath was the special guest at the holiday event. In his welcoming remarks, IACCGH Rajiv Bhavsar said of the holiday season, “This is a joyous occasion to visit friends and families and create lasting memories.”

Special Guest Consul General of India D.C. Manjunath spoke of the attendants. “Your presence here reflects the strength and vibrancy of the Indo-American business community in Houston as well as that of the local business community and its diversity.

IACCGH Board Member Sanjay Rambhadran introduced Mayor Turner as a person with a tremendously successful legal career, as a state legislator, and now for the past eight years, as Mayor at Houston City Hall, but one who
has never forgotten his roots. “Mayor Turner has always put Houston first,” said Rambhadran. “When it comes to the elusive pension reform, he put Houston’s financial future first. When it comes to climate action plans, he put the entire future of the city as the energy capital of the world first. When it comes to diversity, equity, and inclusion, he has put all Houstonians first. When it comes to asking for a paradigm shift in transportation, he put the mobility
of all Houstonians first. These and so so many other initiatives will continue to pay dividends for decades to come.”

On a note of interest to IACCGH members, Rambhadran said the mayor has attended every single IACCGH gala — sometimes coming directly from the airport and sometimes delaying trips.

“Whether it is during the good times, during the Super Bowl, global conferences in Houston, the booming economy, hosting the Indian PM, or celebrating the world champion Astros, but also during the tough times, guiding the city through seven Federally declared disasters, you could always count on Sylvester Turner,” lauded Rambhadran.

Ahluwalia recognized SBA District Director Tim Jeffcoat as being always there for the community whether before or after the pandemic. Ahluwalia also praised HMSDC President Richart Huebner as a tireless advocate for the minority communities, who is passionate about connecting large companies with up-and-coming minority-owned suppliers.

  • Self-Made Millionaire Distills Strategies into 100 Practical Tips

Self-Made Millionaire Distills Strategies into 100 Practical Tips

HOUSTON: Renowned real estate and oil and gas entrepreneur Younas Chaudhary has announced the release of his highly anticipated book, Path to Wealth and Wisdom: 100 Commonsense Tips for Self-Growth and Fulfillment. In
it, Chaudhary provides practical tips, lessons, and reflections drawn from the ups and downs of his own journey on his way to becoming a self-made millionaire.

The book is comprised of 100 brief chapters featuring actionable takeaways about life, business and finance. Dictums such as “Keep meetings short,” “A bottle of Coke can be a luxury” and “7 tips to save money at home” are building blocks that are easy for readers to remember, implement, and adapt to their own individual circumstances.

“The format is ideal for readers who are looking for a few quick tips and points of reflection throughout their day,” said Chaudhary, who added that this book will primarily appeal to entrepreneurs, readers interested in motivational business techniques, and those seeking practical business and financial advice. “But this book is not just about money,” he said. “It’s about personal growth and finding your purpose in life.”

Peppered with encouragement, humility, and humor, Chaudhary’s insights on how to develop a growth mindset, overcome limiting beliefs, and achieve one’s full potential come from a place of experience and authenticity. From
his education in a dilapidated school in Pakistan; to living with 23 others and an array of farm animals in a bustling home (a haveli); to his first sundry work experiences in the West; to the trials and tribulations of the oil and gas industry, Chaudhary has been at the top and at the bottom — with as many struggles as victories.

For those just beginning their journey toward financial freedom or those simply looking to take their lives to the next level, Path to Wealth & Wisdom offers a no-nonsense starting point from a man who took on the world with just a few dollars and a dream. “This book is for those who have ever doubted themselves or their abilities,” Chaudhary added. “My message is simple: perseverance, consistency, and self-belief will make you successful.”

    About the Author

Raised in a remote village in Pakistan, Younas Chaudhary built several successful businesses in the U.S. and Canada using a mix of common sense, hard work, consistency, and determination. When he first landed in Edmonton, Alberta, in late 1973, Chaudhary had only $30 in his pocket. To change the trajectory of his life, he worked day in and out, rising up from a slaughterhouse worker to a landman, to a successful entrepreneur. Then, just when he thought he had it all, tragedy struck when his wife Bushra was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

This book follows the author’s first autobiographical work, From Dirt Roads to Black Gold, offering his tools and tips for productivity, finance, and business — the same ones that allowed Chaudhary to establish himself as a visionary businessman in the volatile oil and gas industry. In it, readers will find practical business and financial advice, as well as wisdom for facing the unexpected twists and turns of life. All proceeds from the sale of Path to
Wealth & Wisdom will benefit charitable causes supported by the YBC Foundation (http://ybcfoundation.com).
In addition to his roles as a successful entrepreneur and author, Chaudhary is known for his dedication to philanthropy and community development. His commitment to empowerment and positive change is reflected in both his business endeavors and his writing.

  • IACCGH, Ft Bend CC Honor Swapan Dhairyawan at Joint Reception

IACCGH, Ft Bend CC Honor Swapan Dhairyawan at Joint Reception

SUGAR LAND: On a warm August evening, the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH) in conjunction with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, hosted a reception in honor of Swapan Dhairyawan. Set against the backdrop of the Fort Bend Chamber’s elegant premises, this gathering celebrated Dhairyawan’s contributions and his appointment to the boards of both the Fort Bend Toll Road Authority and the Grand Parkway Toll Road Authority.

The event was a testament to community solidarity and mutual appreciation, a hallmark of the two co-hosting institutions. Recognized figures such as Commissioner Andy Meyers and Jim Rice, Chair of the Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority and Fort Bend Grand Parkway Toll Road Authority, were in attendance, amplifying the occasion’s significance.

The atmosphere was charged with admiration for Swapan Dhairyawan, particularly his services. Jagdip Ahluwalia, the Executive Director of IACCGH, said, “As we honor Swapan, we are also celebrating the spirit of dedication, commitment, and the value of giving back. Swapan embodies all these ideals, making our community richer with his presence.”

“One profound lesson I’ve imbibed from him is that community service isn’t about ‘having to do it’; it’s about the deep-rooted desire ‘to want to do it’. This distinction makes all the difference,” added Rajiv Bhavsar, President of IACCGH.

Fort Bend County Commissioner Andy Meyers, pointed out, “I’ve known Swapan for many years, and he truly is a tremendous asset to our community. He has played an essential role in making Fort Bend County safe, family-friendly, and dynamic. I always knew the caliber of man he was, which is why I appointed him, and he has certainly lived up to those expectations.”

Swapan Dhairyawan’s heartfelt speech recounted his personal journey as an immigrant, detailing the challenges he faced and the subsequent successes he garnered. Visibly moved, he reflected, “Coming to this country as an immigrant and seeing where I stand today, it’s not just my journey.

It’s the story of countless dreams nurtured by the supportive environment of this great nation. I’m humbled and proud in equal measure.” Dhairyawan added, “In life’s journey, I’ve learned the importance of networking, volunteering, and unwavering determination. Always remember, success is there when you persist through the hard times.”

The reception was an evocative reminder of the strength of community bonds and the continued significance of the IACCGH and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce in fostering these relationships.

  • Chef Jassi Bindra’s ‘Chopped’ Victory a Win for Houston, Indian Cuisine, and Sikhs

Chef Jassi Bindra’s ‘Chopped’ Victory a Win for Houston, Indian Cuisine, and Sikhs

    By

HOUSTON: Jassi Bindra, the executive chef behind the Woodlands luxe Indian restaurant, Amrina, hinted last week that his appearance on Chopped would do Indian cuisine justice, and sure enough, the chef, known for his eclectic spin on Indian cuisine, did not disappoint.

The Indian native, who identifies as Sikh, went on to win the episode, taking home $10,000 and bragging rights for the Houston area and the Sikh community.

The chef appeared to go into the challenge with confidence, intending to use traditional recipes from India with his own eclectic touch. “I’m here to show how Indian cuisine can be sexy,” said Bindra before facing off in the appetizer challenge against Massachusetts chef Emilie Rose Bishop, traveling celebrity chef Morgan Ferguson from Maryland, and Rachel McGill, the first James Beard Award-nominated chef from Lincoln, Nebraska.

At first glance at the four ingredients required to concoct an appetizer, “I feel great actually, and not great,” Bindra said. But the chef went on to spin the Brick French Toast soaked in egg custard, watermelon radishes, smoked peanut butter mixed with Mexican hatch chiles, and canned sardines into mirchi walla, an Indian street feed that’s a stuffed pepper. Bindra stuffed poblano peppers with sardines and portobello mushrooms and topped them with a cheddar cheese fondue that used the peanut butter and panko bread crumbs. Judges had their doubts, with one questioning his use of peppers. “If he can pull that off, I will be so impressed,” said another, and Bindra pulled through, impressing the judges with layered flavors despite the dish’s large portion and lack of texture.

The chef resolved that he’d implement the judges’ feedback into consideration in the entree round when chefs were given 30 minutes to make an entree using a potato chip omelet, pea greens, raw Korean-style short ribs, and cherry cola. Bindra’s grilled short ribs with a pea green salad and Cola-coconut sauce, plated with a liquid egg mousse, was enough to get to the dessert round, where he sealed his win by transforming a giant fortune cookie, gooseberries, blue Hubbard squash, and camel milk into a fortune cookie Rabri, a popular Indian sweet dessert made with condensed milk with sugar, and combining it with candied squash and gooseberries. Though judges said the squash component in the dish was underwhelming, the dessert was still enough to win judges over.

indra said he believes the short rib dish is what truly solidified his win. “The only thing that came from the judges was it was delicious. I told them, ‘I need to go back to Texas, so I can’t mess up my meat!’ That made me feel proud,” Bindra says.

The chef held a watch party at Amrina on Tuesday, August 16, inviting guests to watch the excitement unfold. Bindra said reservations began “blowing up” starting at 5 p.m. and by the time of the episode, it was a packed house full of curious diners. People kept asking him whether he won. “I just said, ‘Keep watching!’ … The fun was actually in watching. It felt like a game show with all the cheering,” he said.

Bindra says the show was a fun challenge. “It really brings out your inner qualities with planning and time management,” he said. “If I get a chance again, I’d love to showcase my skills again.”

Until then, the chef will celebrate his win, which he considers a win for Houston and the Sikh community, too. Bindra says this could be the first time a turban chef from the community has won a reality TV cooking competition like Chopped, which is part of the reason he busted out with the Punjabi phrase “Balle Balle” and a popular dance Punjabi dance move following his win.

He’s hoping to share the experience, too. Bindra says he’ll donate some of his $10,000 to charity, particularly the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The remainder will go to gadgets for his kitchen, gifts for his son, and partying with his friends. Then, after restaurant week, he’ll offer a three-course Chopped menu at Amrina, with a twist on the three dishes featured on the show, so diners can get a literal taste. — Eater Houston

  • American Bank Opening New Location in Frisco

American Bank Opening New Location in Frisco

American Bank – Board of Directors: (L to R) Mehul Patel, Mital Patel, Chirag Patel, Jeff Deaver, Daxesh Patel, Sanjay Patel, Yogi Patel

FRISCO, TEXAS — American Bank of Dallas continues to expand with the opening of a new branch in Frisco on Monday, August 7. This becomes the bank’s third location, joining the main office on West Northwest Highway in Dallas and its branch in Irving’s Valley Ranch Neighborhood.

“Since being acquired by Bright Force Holding in 2019, we have grown from $55 million in assets to more than $400 million in assets by focusing on ‘boutique banking’ that delivers personalized service and innovative solutions for both business and consumer customers,” said Jeff Weaver, President and CEO of American Bank.

Chairman of the Board Chirag “Chuck” Patel added, “As one of the country’s fastest-growing community banks, it’s very appropriate for American Bank to now bring our convenient and competitive style of banking to Frisco, one of the country’s fastest-growing communities.”

To celebrate its new branch location, American Bank is offering a special “grand opening” interest rate of 6% APY on new six-month Certificates of Deposit (CDs) opened at any of its locations during the month of August.

“Many people feel disconnected with the routine impersonal service they receive at large banks, so we’ve changed that by creating a community bank that’s big on service — where customers are known by their names, not their account number,” explained Weaver.

Located at 3382 Preston Road in Frisco, the new branch will be managed by Stephanie San Miguel, who has almost 25 years of banking experience in management positions with community banks as well as regional and national banking institutions.

“We’re locally-owned and managed, which allows us to make faster loan decisions, avoiding the rigid policies and delays typically associated with larger banks,” explained Chairman Patel. “That’s very important for small business owners who need to move at the speed of business rather than the speed of bureaucracy.”

American Bank offers a full range of commercial and consumer services, including SBA and commercial real estate loans, auto loans, business financing, as well as business and personal deposit account options.

The bank was established in May of 1974 as Pan American National Bank of Dallas, changing its name to American Bank in May of 1987. It was acquired in March of 2019 by Bright Force Holding, an investment group based in the Dallas suburb of Grapevine that consists of six prominent Asian American business leaders – Chirag Patel, Daxesh Patel,  Mehul Patel, Mital Patel, Sanjay Patel, and Yogi Patel.

These six investors are partners in NewcrestImage, a privately-held investment firm that currently owns an extensive portfolio of diversified real estate and alternate assets, including approximately 70 hotels across 26 states.

American Bank is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). For more information, visit www.abdallas.bank

Fraudulent Malabar Gold & Diamonds Showroom Shut Down in Pakistan

    ISLAMABAD:

    • The case was filed by Malabar Gold & Diamonds against Mr. Muhammad Faizan, who illegally used the Malabar Gold & Diamonds brand name to operate a jewellery store in Islamabad, Pakistan.
    • A civil case was filed by the brand in Pakistan, which resulted in a court order that immediately halted the illegal usage.
    • Malabar Gold & Diamonds clarified that it does not operate any showroom in Pakistan.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the 6th largest jewellery retailer globally with 317 retail outlets across the Middle East, the Far East, the USA & India, has won a major legal battle against brand impersonation in Islamabad, Pakistan. The case was filed by the brand against Mr. Muhammad Faizan, a Pakistani national, who was operating a jewellery store illegally in the name of Malabar Gold & Diamonds in Islamabad, Pakistan. In addition to using the brand name and other trademarks of Malabar Gold & Diamonds to operate his jewellery store, Mr. Faizan also managed social media pages in Pakistan using the brand name, brand ambassadors, and product images of Malabar Gold & Diamonds.

Upon the filing of the civil case by the legal team of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the Pakistani court immediately ordered the takedown of all “Malabar Gold & Diamonds” sign boards and to stop all usage of the brand name and trademarks. As the accused refused to abide by the court orders, Malabar Gold & Diamonds filed a contempt petition in court, resulting in the accused being arrested, imprisoned, and presented in the Court. Since jail imprisonment was an assured outcome of the civil case, Mr. Faizan approached Malabar Gold & Diamonds for a settlement and subsequent agreement to the conditions put forth by the brand. This included the withdrawal of the trademark application filed by the accused for registering ‘Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ under his name, and publishing confession and declaration in all editions of major English and Urdu newspapers chosen by Malabar Gold & Diamonds; all of which Mr. Faizan agreed to and complied.

“Ours is a business that has been established on the foundation of trust. The brand value that we have painstakingly built over the years is very dear to us and any attempts to exploit the goodwill and reputation of the brand will be prevented. I sincerely assure our loyal customers that as is evident from this case, Malabar Gold & Diamonds will do all that is possible to prevent and discourage any such activities to protect the trust placed in us by our customers.”, commented Malabar Group Chairman, Mr. M.P Ahammed.

Any and all signboards carrying the Malabar Gold & Diamonds brand name and other trademark assets have since been removed by Mr. Faizan, who has admitted to exploiting Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ global presence and brand recognition to mislead customers into thinking that his jewellery store was an authorized franchisee of Malabar Gold & Diamonds and draw advantage from their misconception.

If You’re a Car Enthusiast, Don’t Miss the Toyota Kaikan Museum in Tokyo

The Toyota company had started out as a manufacturer of textile machinery and entered the auto market only in 1937. It is a remarkable feat that the company has climbed to become a world leader in the auto industry.
The floor space of the museum is divided into five sections as under based on the Toyota Philosophy:

    Eco and Emotion

Here a visitor can learn, and experience firsthand Toyota’s approaches to addressing the ecological, environmental issues as well as how the new technology of electric vehicles world is shaping up.

The spotlight of the exhibit was Toyota LQ model, which the company is projecting as “making friends with you via its onboard AI”. Besides Hydrogen cell automobiles one can also see Hybrid (HEV), Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV), All-Electric (BEV) and Fuel Cell Electric (FCEV) vehicles on display.

Toyota is now planning to issue 10 new EV models by 2026. Through the videos and interactive games the visitor can feel the heavy footprint of the hydrocarbon fuels being used now and appreciate the need to switch to cleaner energy to power the vehicles.

    Safety and Freedom

In this section we can see how the Toyota team of engineers are working on the aim of achieving a world free of traffic casualties.

There is a display of a safety stimulator and cutaway body of car with the passive safety features. The car seatbelts, airbags have become an indispensable part of vehicles and other features as reverse assist cameras, blind spot warning signs on side mirrors are becoming more prevalent in the newer vehicles.

The driverless vehicles also called Autonomous Vehicles are newer areas of research to free the drivers from most of responsibility and the associated stress of driving the vehicles.

Simulator along with the Training Videos through virtual reality enables one to experience common weather-related accidents and appreciate the role of technology in mitigating the numbers and severity of accidents.

    Production and Creation

Toyota’s vehicle production system called “lean manufacturing system,” or a “Just-in-Time (JIT) system,” has been a well-known proven system, which has been studied worldwide is highlighted here. The Toyota Production System is known by the acronym of TPS. The TPS starts by building and improving systems by hand until they are reliable and safe. Next through an incremental continuous improvements process steadily simplifies its operations. The feel of the roles of robots cannot just be imagined and envisaged, but here through the display we can see how it is actually executed on the production floor.

    Company and Society

The company’s mission statement is that its mission is to produce happiness for all, and its vision is to create mobility for all. This vision is reflected in their three-wheeler mobility vehicles on display, called C+Walk.
The tree display at the museum is to highlight the company’s mission and activities. The tree symbolizes Toyota’s vision of from “roots to fruits”. The tree symbolizes a useful, long-lasting entity which continues to grow and flourish for a very long time which they have envisaged for their vehicles. The other highlight on the display is the company’s social contribution activities.

    Showroom

The normal car dealership is a showroom plus a lot full of cars. But this showroom is essentially a lineup of latest models of Toyota and Lexus brands automobiles as well as in-house brand racing vehicles. Besides the four-wheel vehicles the other mobility options are also on display.

In addition to these five sections as above, there is the Museum Shop where besides refreshments, one can also buy souvenirs ranging from metal and plastic car models to various branded accessories for vehicles, logoed apparel, books, pens, pencils are also available for sale. Next to the Museum Shop there is an area for special exhibits for children, making it a special attraction for the kids.

Overall, the tour of the museum is an exciting and an entertaining experience for the visitors. Besides hopping into the current model’s lineup, one is free to take pictures by sitting at the steering wheel of vehicles. Thus, one can have the pleasure and luxury of experiencing state of the art vehicles without owning it. Sitting at the steering wheel one is in awe with technological advancements, research and developments that have enabled the development of these models and safety features. For the author, whose first own brand-new car was a Toyota and present vehicle is also from the Lexus lineup, the tour of the museum was dream come true.

An Outsized Birthday Celebration Portrays Jugal Malani’s Love of People!

    By Jawahar Malhotra

HOUSTON: In the center of the main ballroom, there were life-size black and white cutouts of photos of a young, handsome Jugal with a far away look, standing next to his sweetheart, the demure Raj. Even back then his taste in fashion came through – the bell bottoms, a slim fit shirt, a few buttons open at the chest. His fashion sense has stayed a constant even today, as many of us admire his attire – mostly the formals – and would like to take a peek at his wardrobe closet!!

Even greater than his love of clothes is Jugal Malani’s love of causes and people, both of which he has spared no expense in investing in. Over the past two decades, Malani has become legendary for being the first to donate for a cause that benefits the South Asian community, be it India House, Hurricane relief efforts or the Howdy Modi! event in September 2019 which was the epitome of his generosity.

Jugal and Raj Malani in front of the nine-tier cake at the gala birthday party.
Nine-tier birthday cake depicted Jugal Malani’s life story.

Malani’s gregariousness has been passed along to the next generation, his two children, Pankaj Malani and Nikita Shukla, who support their own causes. Pankaj has taken over part of the family business – Unique Industrial Products – and shares his passion for investing in the people who work there and the workplace.

So, it was only natural for Raj, the Malani offspring and their spouses Avnie Malani and Atman Shukla to plan a 70th birthday bash for their dad, the likes of which most of the people had never seen before. Held last Saturday, April 8, at the Hilton Americas downtown next to the Convention Center, the party drew an estimated 800 people to the main ballroom which was converted into a huge nightclub.

Jugal and Raj Malani on the dance floor.
Prema Malani (left), Raj Malani, Kanta Malani, Indu Nawandar, Kiran Bhutada, Bhagwan Malani , Ramesh Bhutada, Shivratan Malani, Jugal Malani , Sharad Nawanda

Seating was limited to hightops, tables and sofas scattered over the floor, with the main attraction the dazzling shiny dance floor in the center and a huge backdrop digital screen. Fabulous DJ Yogi, Pankaj’s childhood friend, played his best mix-ups and pumped up the crowd that stood mesmerized at the dance floor edge. Jugglers on stilt legs, walking mannequins in LED strands and dancers whisked across the ball room.

And standing on a table at the back was a nine-layered, pyramid peaked birthday cake; each layer telling the story of Jugal’s life journey till now: from his childhood home, getting married, having Pankaj, moving to the US, working at Star Pipe Products, starting Unique Industrial Products, the marriage of both his kids and having 5 grand kids.

Apart from the two full center bars, six more were scattered across the ballroom as well as food stalls featuring different cuisines and desserts. There was no assigned seating, no name tags, you just entered from the lobby to the Malani’s Club!!

Pankaj Malani made an emotional speech about his love for his dad, Jugal Malani.

A close family friend, Naresh Mittal took charge of the entire food arrangements and Nikita took charge of the entertainment program, even convincing her mom, Raj who naturally shies away from publicity, to speak in public, but called him “her soulmate”. Jugal calls Raj “his wonder woman” for helping him launch his business with her secret savings of $300,000!

Atman Shukla, Radhika Lohiya, Nikita Malani, Avnie Malani, Yash Shukla, Aavya Shukla, Kiaan Malani, Karina.

On this huge, milestone 70th birthday, Jugal Malani was surrounded by his extended family: his sister Kiran and her husband Ramesh Bhutada, founder of Star Pipe Products, who gave Jugal his start in business in the US. Jugal’s elder brother Shivrathan and wife Prema; younger brother Bhagwan and wife Kanta and younger sister Indu and husband Sharad all flew in from India. Also attending were nephew Sachin with Shruti and their two daughters Aarna and Raisa; and his aunt Geeta Pallod and the Vijay Pallod family.

For a legendary man, Jugal Malani sure packed a legendary milestone party that will be talked out for years to come.

Hotel Products from Manufacturers from Gujarat will Star at Special Expos in Dallas, Atlanta

DALLAS, ATLANTA: The first-ever trade expos in the United States by India-based manufacturers of products for the hotel industry are being held in Dallas and in Atlanta. The events, featuring more than 100 suppliers, are scheduled for April 27 through 29 at the SLPS Event Center in Irving, Texas and May 4 through 6 at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, Georgia.

“People of Indian heritage are active throughout the U.S. hotel industry – as owners, as product specifiers, and as FF&E buyers,” said Harshal Bhagat, Chairman of the International Business Delegation for the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI), which is organizing and sponsoring the events.

“So it’s very appropriate that India’s leading manufacturers of hotel furnishings come here and demonstrate how they can help American hoteliers achieve their American dream.”

Admission to the trade shows is free, and booths will represent a wide variety of products, notably furniture, linens, fabrics, lighting, accessories, IT support, HVAC, and equipment for in-room technology and entertainment, for safety and security, and for fitness and spa.

Bhagat added, “This is a unique opportunity for American hoteliers to learn directly in face-to-face conversations about the very significant savings they gain in costs and in timeline by ordering products from India compared to other off-shore sources.”

Specifically, Indian manufacturers offer a package of benefits that include much shorter lead times for production and shipping, together with duty charges about 20% lower and product costs that can be 20% to 35% lower, according to Bhagat.

“The very latest designs will be on display for hotel owners and developers, purchasing and procurement firms, architects, interior designers, and product specifiers at hotel brands,” according to Bhagat.  “And many custom options are conveniently available.”
