HOUSTON: DAV Sanskriti School (DAVSS), an educational initiative of Arya Samaj Greater Houston (ASGH), marked the beginning of its 2026–27 academic year with the traditional Vidyaarambha Ceremony, symbolizing the induction of students into learning and the pursuit of knowledge.
Students, parents, teachers, volunteers, and well-wishers of Arya Samaj Greater Houston gathered in the Satsang Hall for the auspicious occasion. The ceremony was conducted by Acharya Surya Nanda Ji and Acharya Bramdeo Mokoonlall Ji.
The program began with Tilak and the presentation of Anga Vastra to all students. Students eight years of age and older were conferred the Yajnopaveeta (Janeu). This was followed by Yajna, blessings, and Bhajans, creating a spiritual and uplifting start to the new school year.
Ashutosh Ji Garg, Coordinator of Arya Samaj Greater Houston, gave a presentation highlighting the activities and initiatives of Arya Samaj and DAV Sanskriti School. During the program, Poorna Foundation was recognized for conducting two series of debate & speech-training sessions aimed at developing communication, reasoning, and public-speaking skills among youth.
In his message to the gathering, DAVSS Acharya Bramdeo Ji emphasized the important role parents play in engaging with their children and helping nurture the living values of Sanatan Dharma that DAVSS seeks to instill in its students. He thanked parents for entrusting their children to DAV Sanskriti School and expressed appreciation to the teachers and volunteers for their commitment. He also acknowledged the ASGH management team for its dedicated support in advancing the school’s educational and cultural mission.
The ceremony concluded with Arti and Shaanti Paatha, followed by Prasad.
Admissions to DAV Sanskriti School for the 2026–27 academic year will remain open through August 31, 2026.
