Daya’s “One Voice Against Domestic Violence” Gets Enthusiastic Honks

HOUSTON: The Saturday morning atmosphere last weekend in the Mahatma Gandhi district of southwest Houston was reminiscent of a street scene in South Asia with its saree stores, dhabas and jewellery shops. And lots of honking!

The honking was in support of Daya Houston’s 7th annual “One Voice Against Domestic Violence” initiative held in association with the Houston Police Department.

More than 112 community participants joined Daya board members, staff and volunteers in the rally against domestic violence

The primary sponsor for the event was the Simmons Foundation. Food sponsors were Hot Breads, Mayuri, Nasimatun Nahar, Raja Sweets and Udipi Cafe. Gift sponsors were Ek Perfumes and Kohinoor Diamonds.
