CHENNAI: Nine seasons, seven finals and three titles – CSK can easily be rechristened Consistent Super Kings. The consistency factor stems from the team management’s belief in sticking to the tried-and-tested formula as they made their way back to the tournament after a two-year hiatus. Their first move was to retain the talismanic MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the auctions earlier this year.

Awaken to many Realities by Guruji Krishnananda

We have to awaken to many Truths, many Realities. We have to awaken from ignorance. Sometimes people say that in Hinduism there are so many gods. All these gods do exist. Lord Mahavishnu is in-charge of Life and Life Forces. Lord Shiva is in-charge of the forces of destruction. Lord Brahma is in-charge of creation. And hordes of gods assist these processes.

All gods/deities are manifestations from a single God. There is one God. And here, on this earth, we can imagine Him to be Light. And from that Light all these emanations, all these manifestations came forth. God is energy. God is Light. And God is omnipresent. Everyone has to awaken to the Truth that there is only one God and all others are manifestations.

NEW DELHI: “Don’t enter the temple if you are on your periods.” “Don’t touch the pickle if you are menstruating.” “Your mother can’t enter the kitchen, she is ‘dirty’ right now,” these are some of the common things most girls and women across India have heard growing up. While menstruation is a natural body process that women undergo, it is a topic discussed in hushed tones even today, thus contributing to the taboo attached to it. From wrapping sanitary pads in newspapers and brown-paper bags to hiding them in black polythene bags, everything related to menstruation is deemed as the elephant in the room – something that has been turned a blind eye to, for a bit too long. While Arunachalam Muruganantham, on whom the movie PadMan was based, did his bit to change the narrative, Anurag Chauhan and Amol Prakash Mane are two other men whose contributions towards spreading awareness about menstruation, is no less significant.

George H.W. Bush was a Navy pilot in World War II and survived being shot down over the Pacific Ocean. His two crew members perished.

The hospitalization of former President George H.W. Bush caused him to miss out on a Memorial Day parade in Maine that he traditionally attends. The 93-year-old said in a tweet Monday evening that he regrets missing the event earlier that day in Kennebunkport, down the road from his summer home. He also said he’s “forever grateful not only to those patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation-  but also the Gold Star families whose heritage is imbued with their honor and heroism.”

Bush was taken to a hospital Sunday after he experienced low blood pressure and fatigue. A spokesman said he’d likely be in the hospital for a couple of days for observation. There was no update on his condition Monday.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, known for his witty repartees, told an American audience in Washington that he has more Sikhs in his Cabinet than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The quip came when Trudeau was taking 10 questions from students at the American University in northwest Washington during his state visit to the US.

During the half-an-hour session at the university on Friday, a student named Jahan from the Punjab province of Pakistan told Trudeau that it was really great to see so many Punjabis in his cabinet.

“I have more Sikhs in my cabinet than Modi does,” Trudeau was quoted as saying by the Canadian daily ‘The Star’.

44-year-old Trudeau, who assumed office in November last year, surprised one and all by including four Sikh-Canadians in his Cabinet.
